Room greeting
Send every visitor a welcome message.
Room owners: the entry message (no operator needed)
/cs set #yourroom entrymsg Welcome %n to %c! Be kind and have fun. /cs set #yourroom entrymsg
Everybody who joins gets that private notice from ChanServ (%n is their nickname, %c the room). A founder or SOP can set it, and the second command (no text) removes it. In an Auditorium Rows event the master's entry message is shown in every sub-room. /cs info #yourroom shows it.
Network operators: a greeting from a bot
A server bot sends each visitor a private notice when they join. Network operators set it up in AdminServ (/as):
/as bot Greeter add /as chan #yourroom add /as chan #yourroom bot add Greeter /as chan #yourroom greeting append Welcome %n to %c! Be kind and have fun.
%n is the visitor's nickname and %c the room name. Add more lines with greeting append, and use greeting list, greeting insert 2 text, greeting del 2 and greeting erase to manage them.
Greetings and big rooms. A greeting belongs to one room name. In an Auditorium Rows event visitors get the master room's greeting as they pass through it (you need the bot in the master); the sub-rooms .1, .2 have no greeting of their own. With a full room and an overflow room, a visitor gets the greeting of the room they end up in, not of the full one. The auditorium mode +A does not affect greetings.
