Find rooms

Browse and search the rooms that are open to everyone.

The room list page

/chat/ shows cards for open rooms: name, topic and number of people. Long topics are cut with "..." so the page stays tidy. Click a card to join.

Inside the chat

Use Find more rooms in the room list, or type /list. A window lists open rooms. Search by name or by words in the topic, then click one to join.

Rooms to try

Several open rooms are always lively: #lobby (a good place to say hello), #general, #random, #music, #food, #tech, #games, #movies, #books and #memes (an emoji-only room).

Hidden rooms

Rooms set to private or secret are never shown in these lists. See Private and hidden rooms. To get into one you need its exact name.

Start a room

Below the search box, the Create a new room box makes a room with the name you type. See Create a room.

Next: My buddy list.
