/away Back in ten minutes /away
The second form turns Away off.
The default message
The Away button sends "Away from the keyboard" followed by the date, time and your time zone, for example (10/14/26 @ 2:12 PM UTC -05), so people know when you left.
What others see
Anyone who messages you or looks you up with /whois sees that you are away and why. The message can be up to 180 characters.
