Room limits

Keep a busy room under control with a few numbers.

Room owners (SOP access and above) can set limits with /prop #room name value. 0 turns a limit off.

PropertyWhat it does
USERSPERIPMost people allowed in the room from the same internet address.
JOINSPERSECMost joins per second. More are told the room is full.
USERMSGSPERSECMost messages per second one member may send. People with voice or ops are exempt.
JOINMUTESeconds a new member must wait before speaking.
OVERFLOWWhen the room is full, send newcomers to another room (turns on mode +O).
CHECKAGEMinutes a nickname must have been registered before it may join. Unregistered nicknames are refused.
REJOINTRACKSeconds somebody who left must wait before coming back.

Operators and people on the room's access list are exempt from every limit. /prop #room name without a value shows the current setting.

Moderation channels (+M and +N)

irc
/mode #live-chat +tnmM #live-scan
/mode #live-scan +snN #live-chat

An operator sets +M #scan on the audience room: what members without voice say there is also shown in the scan channel, where the moderators pick the questions and paste them back. +N #live-chat marks the receiving room.

Auditorium (+A)

For big events an operator can set +A. People who cannot speak are hidden from the names list and from join and part messages; up to 20 of them stay visible, and so does everybody with voice or ops. A hidden person who speaks becomes visible. Operators see everyone. Use it with +m and give speakers voice.

Say hi in #CR.
