Profile fields
Age, location, avatar and other profile lines that only registered users can have.
Operators only. This section is for IRC operators.
A profile field is one line about you, such as Age, Location or Avatar. Only people with a registered, identified nickname can have fields, because the fields belong to the account. Visitors without a registered nickname have none and cannot set any.
irc
/ns set field Age 33 /ns set field Location Lisbon /avatar cat /uprop aim myname
Network operators decide, field by field, where it appears (/as field Age set whois on):
| Setting | Where the field shows |
|---|---|
WHOIS ON | In /whois yournick, as a line like Age: 33. |
ONJOIN ON | A notice to the room each time you join it: Anna - Age: 33. |
PRIVATE ON or OPER ON | Never announced; only IRC operators see it in /whois. |
A field with none of those switched on is stored but not shown anywhere except in /ns info. Remove yours with /ns set field Age (no value). The change shows in /whois within a few seconds.
