Identify and protect
Prove it is you, and stop others taking your name.
Operators only. This section is for IRC operators.
Identify
irc
/ns IDENTIFY yourpassword
You see the registered mark next to your nickname and gain the rights tied to it. You must identify every time you connect, unless an access mask matches.
Protect
NickServ can warn and then rename people who use your nickname without identifying:
irc
/ns SET PROTECT ON
If someone is using your nickname
irc
/ns GHOST yournick yourpassword /ns RECOVER yournick yourpassword /ns RELEASE yournick yourpassword
GHOST disconnects an old session that is still using the nickname. RECOVER takes the nickname back from someone who has it. RELEASE frees a nickname that services are holding for you.
Other settings
irc
/ns SET EMAIL you@example.com /ns SET URL https://example.com /ns SET NOMEMO ON /ns SET SECURE ON
Every setting has its own page under SET.
