Language filter
The network can block unwanted words.
Operators only. This section is for IRC operators.
The network has a language filter. A message that contains a blocked word is stopped before it reaches the room, and the sender is told. The filter looks through simple tricks such as swapping letters for look-alike characters and adding dots or dashes between letters.
Where it applies
- Room messages and private messages.
- Nicknames and room names.
Rooms can turn it on or off with the mode +L where the network allows.
If your message was blocked
Rephrase it. If you think a word was blocked by mistake, tell an operator so the list can be corrected.
Who maintains it
Network operators keep the list. Room operators cannot edit it.
