CR Translation
Every person reads the room in their own language, automatically.
CR Translation lets people who speak different languages share one room. Each person writes in their own language and reads everybody else in theirs. It works by itself: there is nothing to install, no app, no plug-in and no extra window to open. It is available with Enterprise Edition only, and it is included at no extra charge.
How it works
- You join a translation room in the Web Chat, the same way you join any room.
- You choose your language once, in Settings, under CR Translation Language.
- You write in your own language. Everyone in the room reads your line in theirs, a moment later.
- Every line from other people appears in your language, with the original wording shown underneath, so you can always check it.
You do not have to press anything for a line to be translated. It happens for every message in the room, automatically.
An example
Alex reads and writes in English. Min-jun reads and writes in Korean. This is one conversation, seen by each of them:

Languages
- Every translation room pairs English with one other language. The languages you can choose from are Korean, Malay, French and Spanish (Spanish with Mexican word choices).
- A room translates two languages at a time. Tell us which pair your people share and we set the room up for you.
- The Web Chat page itself can also appear in your language.
What to expect
Translation is done by a computer, so it is a great help for keeping a conversation going, but it is not a human translator.
- Short, everyday sentences work best. Greetings, plans and questions come out well.
- Slang, jokes, names and very long messages may not come out right. The original line is always shown underneath so you can read what was really written.
- Private messages are never translated. Translation shows in the Web Chat: people who use an IRC program instead see the original lines only.
- On a very busy night a line may appear without its translation. The original is always there.
Getting it
CR Translation is part of Enterprise Edition. Contact us with the two languages your people use, and we set the room up with you. There is nothing for your people to install: they open the room and start talking.
